Turning the Unaka Elementary school into a Community Center

Community meeting is Tuesday 7/28. @6pm.
At Unaka Elementary School in the Gym

 We are trying to make this meeting as productive as possible. We have invited our representatives Rusty Crowe, Renae Jones, a rep from Diane Harshbarger, our mayor and another candidate, the little Milligan representative, and school board members. This is a fact finding meeting.

 This will help the future of our community if there’s a great turnout.

 Pass the word so we can show the support to this project. Turning the Unaka Elementary school into a Community Center👍

Note: if you’re able and interested in this project. A core group is needed to ensure the Community Center can be a success our communities opportunity to discuss all the particulars needed for this huge endeavor. I can only do my part, but with our community coming together good things can happen.

I have spoken with the Little Milligan Community chair and they are willing to walk us through the steps their church and community took to buy the school. 

A couple of school board members have expressed the board’s interest in the community retaining the school as a community center, either as a group or in conjunction with a local church, or churches. 

Those of you that have the interest and desire to make UES a whole community center are needed. Total community input.

If you are interested in volunteering, as supporters with time, and experience to lend or assist, and or leading this endeavor, come out July 28 @ 6 for the meeting. 

 Ok Creekers if Unaka Elementary was your Alma Mater or not if you’re passionate about saving the school for future generations as a community center we need a huge citizen effort to save the gym field and cafeteria for community kids.

This is going to have to be a community project, it’s going to need a lot of work, expertise and leadership and endeavor not to be taken lightly.
