My Roof Troubles

Gary Snowden did the estimate.
He subcontracted the job to a crew out of Hampton. The lead man's name was
Mr. Lyons.
They removed my old roof and half of the felt. They did not install new felt
over the bare wood before installing the shingles. They said with architectural
shingles it was not needed.
They were contracted to also install a roof vent along the ridge of my roof.
They used hatchets and chopped out a space at the peak for the vent. I will post
photos of the mess they left in my attic. I do not believe the area chopped out
is as wide as the specifications of the ridge vent call for.
The day after the install it rained and my carport roof leaked bad in several
places. see photos below. I had to stop payment on my first check because they
would not answer my calls and I never would have paid them if I knew how bad
they are at their job.
They replaced all the shingles over the carport after the original install
because they said they should have installed a heavy "ice guard" felt first
They replaced the shingles over the carport again after it leaked because the
installers forgot to remove the protective plastic from the sticky side of the
ice guard.
They replaced the shingles over the roof above the carport after it leaked
because they said it was installed with too much "lip" causing it to leak again.
They replaced the seal around my chimney on the roof with a material they had
to heat with a torch to seal it.
Then my dining room ceiling fell in while it was raining. It was leaking
around the chimney that time. I covered the roof as much as I could while it was
raining with a large blue tarp. It did not help.
They refused to repair the roof or the ceiling so I turned it in to my home
owners insurance with Farm Bureau and they sent a crew from Insurance
Restoration Services to replace a sheet of drywall and paint my ceiling.
I would not recommend Snowden's Siding Roofing & Windows to roof my doghouse.
